As part of its residency partnership with the Josef & Anni Albers Foundation, the eac. is hosting the artist Abdoulaye SOW.

From 10 December 2026 to 10 January 2027

A graduate of the École Nationale des Arts in Dakar, Abdoulaye SOW develops an artistic practice deeply connected to nature, ancestral knowledge and notions of care and healing. Using pigments from the Mbant Maré plant, a traditional remedy that marked his personal history, he creates works in which family memory, spirituality and ecological commitment meet. Inspired by the figure of his mother, who first passed this knowledge on to him, the artist explores the links between humans, the earth and the invisible forces that surround us. His work invites us to rekindle a sensitive relationship with the living world and to see nature as an essential source of transmission and resilience.
