The eac. sees arts education as essential to children's development. Art stimulates curiosity, creativity and critical thinking. Through exhibition visits, holiday art workshops, weekly workshops, after-school sessions and one-off activities, the art centre gives young people a space for personal expression and encourages open-mindedness. By introducing children to art from an early age, the eac. helps build a shared culture, tolerance and respect for diversity.

Every month, Creative Wednesdays (ages 2–5) and Tales & Magic (18 months–5 years) invite young and old to discover a theme or story linked to one of the current exhibitions, through observation and creation. For birthdays, Mic Mac à l'eac. (ages 6–11) offers a treasure hunt through the collection.

The Baby Tour (6–36 months) invites babies and parents to discover the works by awakening the senses — looking, touching, listening — in a gentle, special moment together...
Baby Music (9–36 months): an art and music session led by the eac. and a guest musician, echoing the works on display.
Petit Art & Grand Jeu (ages 2–3): an activity encouraging sensory exploration and experimenting with materials, colours and shapes.

The eac. offers schools a range of educational projects linked to the exhibitions, from an interactive exhibition visit on its own to a visit followed by one or more hands-on art workshops. Each session has several stages and, depending on the project, lasts from 1½ to 3 hours over a half-day, or 3 to 5 hours over a full day as a workshop.

At the eac., our mediation and art workshops strive to make art accessible to all audiences, including people with disabilities. The eac. team offers a sensitive, adapted discovery of the works, taking into account each person's needs and abilities. Specific programmes are developed with medical and social care organisations and support professionals.

Our training courses aim to foster individual and collective initiative by supporting the desire to design cultural and artistic projects with partner organisations. They encourage new projects for pupils, and young audiences more broadly, around a wide range of cross-disciplinary themes.
The eac. supports professionals, students and individuals who wish to deepen their knowledge and practice in cultural education or art mediation.

Our approach to mediation takes shape through educational tools, tour design and teaching materials that encourage each participant's creative experimentation while fostering analytical and critical thinking. Experiencing the works first-hand teaches us to make, to speak, to look — and to learn how to learn. Through its many initiatives, the eac. aims to show that art is a powerful driver of education, inclusion and social connection.
Mediation in front of the works, whether artistic, cultural or historical, plays a fundamental role in engaging the public and deepening their understanding. It builds a bridge between the work and the viewer, opening up interpretations, stirring emotions and enriching the whole experience.
