The eac. is hosting a new OVNi program: the exhibition "Faire Signe" at the eac. in Mouans-Sartoux, and Christian Vialard, a guest artist at the Hôtel WindsoR in Nice.
The OVNI festival’s uniqueness lies in its promotion of video art through two main themes: the first highlights contemporary creation and the artists who have shaped the history of video art since the 1960s; the second focuses on the work of emerging artists from the South region.
The dedicated space “Écoutez voir...” explores the boundaries and points of friction between sound and visual art. Objectif Video Nice, Biennale de l’Image en Mouvement, presents a program that aligns with the theme of this year’s OVNI edition, “Performancia,” and explores concrete perception through the hand as an autonomous, spatialized, and visual language.
The program brings together four historical figures in contemporary art from different disciplines, united through the lens of video art: Lydia Clark, Christine Sun Kim, Yvonne Rainer and Richard Serra. What unites them is the energy of movement, a visual plasticity, and the hand under tension: the silence of the gesture and the sign as eloquence.
The four works presented are rooted in both a research-based dimension and a relational dimension: nonverbal exchange and the body as embodiment and efficiency.
